Update

I know it’s been a while.  I started my new job, which has kept be very busy as I try to come up to speed on a whole project.  So far I really enjoy the new job.  It’s something new, and there’s tons to do, so it’s keeping me busy.

The downside is I will basically be traveling for the next three weeks with one or two day breaks back here (home) on the weekends.  I hate traveling, and it won’t be easy being away from my wife, friends, my stuff, etc… for so long.

I’ve been hitting the gym every morning between 5:30 and 6:30, and starting work around 7 AM.  I’m not a morning person at all, but the workout gets the blood pumping and by the time I’m home and showered, I’m totally awake.  Being able to wrap up work around 3 PM is great.  Lots of free time in the afternoons and evenings, plus of course the lack of a long commute is great.

We had a few friends over for a very chill Fourth of July shindig at our place.  We played some Bocce, grilled some food, ate some delicious things my wife made, talked, and had a great time.   I hope everyone reading had a great Fourth as well.

This morning I met up with Russell and Gordon and we all worked from outside this great coffee house with free WiFi.  It’s good to meet up with other tech folks and get some professional socialization.  It’s like being in an office populated only by your good friends, and a great barista.   I was also able to bounce some of the more detailed CA questions off of Gordon, who’s a CA expert, so that was good.  I had a very productive morning, which always feels good.

I need to go find a book store before I fly out on Monday morning.  Maybe I’ll go out tonight and do a little book shopping.
